POSITION OVERVIEW: The Social Media Manager – North America leads the development, execution, and optimization of Chiquita’s social media strategy across the U.S. (general market and Hispanic) and Canada. This senior individual contributor role is responsible for building an always-on social presence that translates Chiquita’s cultural brand equity—anchored in Miss Chiquita and core campaign platforms—into sustained follower growth, engagement, and measurable business impact.
 
This role owns content strategy, platform management, community building, influencer programs, and performance analytics across Instagram and TikTok, supported by agency resources. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, platform-native creativity, strong data acumen, and a passion for social culture and storytelling.
 
This role leads through agency and influencer partners. A strong brand marketing foundation, familiarity with trade marketing, and a willingness to support broader marketing initiatives are essential.
 
The position is based in Fort Lauderdale, FL reporting to the Director of Marketing, North America
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead end-to-end social media strategy across North America, including content planning, channel management, community engagement, and performance reporting. 
  • Develop and manage an always-on content calendar, maintaining consistent publishing cadence and algorithmic momentum year-round.
  • Create recurring content franchises (e.g., Reels series, carousel programs, UGC features) to drive sustained engagement beyond campaign cycles.
  • Execute platform-specific strategies, optimizing Reels, Stories, and TikTok content for reach, engagement, and conversion metrics (e.g., watch time, saves, shares, DM activity).
  • Lead a TikTok-first workflow, identifying trends and deploying content within 24–48 hours.
  • Activate Instagram Stories as a daily engagement channel using interactive tools (polls, Q&A, UGC reshares, etc.).
  • Align social content with brand platforms (“Pop by Nature,” “Likely the Best Snack Ever,” “Small Changes, Big Difference”), leveraging Miss Chiquita in culturally relevant ways for Gen Z and Millennials.
  • Oversee agency partners, including briefing, workflow management, approvals, and performance accountability.
  • Build and manage an always-on micro-influencer network (10–15 creators, 10K–100K followers) and support broader influencer initiatives.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance metrics, translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Conduct social listening and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices.
  • Ensure integration with broader marketing efforts, including paid media, shopper marketing, experiential, and campaigns.
  • Manage social media budget, including agency, influencers, and production, with accountability for ROI.
  • Drive innovation through test-and-learn initiatives and social commerce activations (Instagram Shopping, TikTok Shop).
  • Present performance reviews, insights, and strategic recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure social media amplifies overall brand objectives.
  • Maintain strong project management, organization, and attention to detail across all initiatives, with flexibility to operate outside standard business hours as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in social media, digital marketing, or content strategy, preferably with CPG or food & beverage brands (brand or agency side).
  • Deep expertise in TikTok and Instagram, including algorithms, formats, trends, and performance benchmarks.
  • Proven success building always-on content programs that drive sustained growth and engagement.
  • Experience managing influencer partnerships, including micro and mid-tier creators, with strong understanding of performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into strategic insights.
  • Experience managing budgets and agency relationships with accountability for ROI.
  • Proficiency in social listening tools (e.g., Sprout, Brandwatch, Meltwater) and competitive analysis.
  • Familiarity with social commerce tools preferred.
  • Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proactive, innovative self-starter with a test-and-learn mindset.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
 
  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
 This position requires satisfactory passing of a drug test in accordance with Florida Statute § 440.102.
