POSITION TITLE: Ocean Freight Sales Manager – Northeast
POSITION OVERVIEW
Great White Fleet Corp. is seeking a driven and strategic Ocean Freight Sales Manager to lead our commercial efforts in the Northeast United States. Reporting to the Director of Great White Fleet, this role is responsible for executing our ocean transportation liner sales strategy to maximize market share, revenue, and volume within the assigned territory.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a deep understanding of the container shipping industry, a proven track record in outside sales, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships. Strong communication skills, business acumen, and the ability to work independently are essential.
This is a remote position, ideally based in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania, though other locations within the Northeast region of the United States may be considered.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and capture new business opportunities through market research, networking, and strategic planning.
- Proactively engage with prospective and existing customers to expand accounts, increase market share, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Consistently achieve and exceed sales quotas and business development goals.
- Evaluate new business proposals and provide strategic pricing recommendations to maximize revenue potential.
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support key accounts and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Develop accurate sales forecasts to support proactive planning and resource allocation.
- Prepare and deliver market performance reports and analysis as assigned.
- Maintain subject matter expertise in the assigned territory’s market dynamics and operational landscape.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of maritime industry experience (container shipping strongly preferred).
- At least 4 years of experience in sales, ideally in ocean or intermodal transportation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
- Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled home office environment.
- Incumbent may sit for extended periods at a desk or computer terminal.
- Use of calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment is routine.
- Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required to complete job duties.
Compensation: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
